This Privacy Policy explains how Equation Solver AI ("Equation Solver AI", "the App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the App.

We designed Equation Solver AI to collect only the information necessary to provide its math recognition, solving, subscription, security, and related functionality.

1. Information We Collect

Anonymous User Identifier

Equation Solver AI does not require you to provide your name, email address, telephone number, password, or profile information.

When the App uses its online functionality, it creates an anonymous Firebase Authentication account. Firebase assigns a random user identifier ("UID") to this account.

We use this anonymous identifier to:

• associate solutions with the correct installation/user;
• manage usage limits;
• manage subscription status;
• secure access to cloud resources; and
• connect subscription information with RevenueCat.

The anonymous UID is not intentionally sent to OpenAI.

Math Problem Images

When you choose to solve a problem, you may:

• take a photo using your device camera; or
• select an image from your photo library.

The selected image is uploaded to our cloud infrastructure so that it can be analyzed and solved.

The image is processed through Google Firebase services and is sent to OpenAI for mathematical recognition and solution generation.

Uploaded problem images are designed to be deleted from Firebase Storage after processing is completed.

In exceptional circumstances, such as an interrupted request, technical failure, or incomplete cleanup operation, an uploaded copy may remain in cloud storage until it is removed through our cleanup procedures or a data-deletion request.

Your original image in your device's photo library is not modified or deleted by Equation Solver AI.

Please avoid uploading images containing personal information that is unrelated to the math problem, such as faces, addresses, identification documents, telephone numbers, or other sensitive information.

Math Problem Information

When solving a problem, we may process:

• the mathematical problem visible in the image;
• an optional task or problem number;
• instructions you provide about how the problem should be solved;
• a recognized mathematical representation of the problem;
• the generated answer;
• step-by-step explanations;
• mathematical formulas;
• confidence information and warnings; and
• timestamps associated with the solution.

Your image, task number, and task instructions may be transmitted to OpenAI for processing.

Solution History

Generated solutions may be stored:

• in Google Firestore on our servers; and
• locally on your device.

Local solution history is limited by the App to a maximum of 20 recent solutions. Older local solutions may be removed when new solutions are added.

Server-side solution records may be retained until they are deleted in accordance with the data-deletion process described below.

Deleting the App or clearing the App's local data may remove local history but does not by itself necessarily delete information stored on our servers or by third-party service providers.

Subscription and Purchase Information

Equation Solver AI offers subscriptions and/or in-app purchases through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Subscription management is provided using RevenueCat.

Depending on your purchase activity, we may process information such as:

• product or subscription identifier;
• subscription tier;
• subscription status;
• entitlement status;
• expiration date;
• purchase or restore status; and
• related transaction identifiers.

We do not directly receive or store your credit-card number, bank-account number, card security code, or billing credentials.

Payments are processed by Apple or Google under their respective terms and privacy policies. RevenueCat may process purchase receipts, purchase tokens, transaction information, device information, and other data required to manage subscriptions.

Usage and Operational Information

We may collect or generate information required to operate the App, including:

• number of solutions requested;
• usage and quota counters;
• subscription-related usage information;
• timestamps;
• AI model usage and token statistics;
• processing latency;
• errors and diagnostic information; and
• security and app-integrity information.

Aggregate AI usage statistics may be stored without an individual user identifier.

Analytics

Equation Solver AI includes Firebase Analytics functionality.

Where Firebase Analytics is enabled, it may collect information about how the App is used. For example, the App may record which onboarding role a user selects, such as:

• middle school student;
• high school student;
• university student;
• parent;
• teacher; or
• other.

Firebase may also process technical information automatically according to its SDK configuration and Google's privacy practices.

We do not use analytics information for third-party advertising.

Diagnostic and Server Logs

Our cloud infrastructure may create technical logs for security, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and service operation.

These logs may contain:

• recognized mathematical problems;
• generated answers and solution steps;
• AI response information;
• model and usage statistics;
• errors;
• processing times; and
• other technical information generated during a solving request.

Infrastructure providers may also automatically process technical network information such as IP addresses, request headers, device information, or similar metadata.

2. Device Permissions

Equation Solver AI may request access to:

Camera

Used only when you choose to photograph a math problem.

Photo Library

Used only when you choose an existing image containing a math problem.

Equation Solver AI does not intentionally request access to your contacts, precise location, microphone, health data, calendars, Bluetooth devices, or advertising identifier for its core functionality.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described in this Policy to:

• recognize mathematical problems from images;
• generate answers and step-by-step explanations;
• provide and maintain solution history;
• authenticate users anonymously;
• enforce free and paid usage limits;
• manage subscriptions and purchases;
• restore purchases;
• prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
• verify the integrity of the App and device environment;
• diagnose technical problems;
• monitor service performance;
• improve the reliability and functionality of Equation Solver AI; and
• comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not use your information to serve third-party behavioral advertisements.

4. Artificial Intelligence Processing

Equation Solver AI uses artificial intelligence services provided by OpenAI.

When you submit a math problem, information sent to OpenAI may include:

• the problem image;
• an optional problem number;
• your solving instructions; and
• technical instructions generated by Equation Solver AI that tell the AI how to recognize, solve, verify, and format the problem.

A problem may be processed more than once when Equation Solver AI determines that a more capable AI model is required.

We do not intentionally include your Firebase user identifier, RevenueCat identifier, name, email address, telephone number, subscription status, or onboarding role in the data sent to OpenAI.

OpenAI processes information according to its applicable terms, API data policies, and privacy practices.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

To provide Equation Solver AI, we use third-party services that may process information on our behalf.

Google Firebase and Google Cloud

We use Google services including:

• Firebase Authentication;
• Cloud Firestore;
• Firebase Storage;
• Cloud Functions;
• Firebase Analytics;
• Firebase App Check; and
• Google Play Integrity where applicable.

These services provide authentication, cloud storage, databases, backend processing, analytics, security, and abuse prevention.

OpenAI

OpenAI processes math problem images and instructions to recognize and solve mathematical problems and generate explanations.

RevenueCat

RevenueCat manages subscription status, purchase entitlements, and purchase restoration.

Apple

On Apple devices, Apple may process purchases, StoreKit transactions, App Store subscriptions, device integrity information through App Attest or DeviceCheck, and related platform information.

Google

On Android devices, Google may process Google Play purchases, subscription information, Play Integrity information, and related platform information.

Each third-party service processes information according to its own terms and privacy practices.

6. Advertising and Tracking

Equation Solver AI does not currently contain third-party advertising SDKs.

The App does not intentionally access Apple's IDFA or the Android Advertising ID for advertising purposes.

We do not use App Tracking Transparency to request permission for cross-app advertising tracking because Equation Solver AI does not currently perform such tracking.

We do not sell user information to advertisers or data brokers.

7. Data Retention

Different categories of information are retained for different periods.

Problem Images

Uploaded problem images are intended to be temporary and are normally deleted after processing finishes.

Technical failures may occasionally prevent immediate deletion. Such residual files may remain until removed through system maintenance or a deletion request.

Solutions

Cloud-stored solutions may remain associated with your anonymous account until they are deleted through our data-deletion process.

Local history is limited to approximately 20 recent solutions and otherwise remains on your device until overwritten, the App's data is cleared, or the App is uninstalled.

Subscription and Usage Information

Subscription status, usage counters, and related operational records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, manage subscriptions, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.

Logs

Technical, security, diagnostic, and cloud-service logs may be retained for periods determined by our infrastructure configuration and applicable service providers.

We may retain aggregated or de-identified information where it can no longer reasonably be associated with an individual user.

8. Data and Account Deletion

Equation Solver AI uses an anonymous account rather than a traditional account containing your name or email address.

You may request deletion of your anonymous account and data associated with it.

You can initiate a deletion request:

• from Settings → Delete My Data within Equation Solver AI; or
• through our Support page.

When a valid deletion request is processed, we will delete or request deletion, where applicable, of information associated with the anonymous Equation Solver AI account, including:

• the Firebase Authentication account;
• Firestore user records;
• stored solution records;
• remaining problem images in Firebase Storage associated with that account; and
• subscription/customer association information where deletion is supported and legally appropriate.

Information may be retained where required for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention, security, transaction records, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our agreements.

Some information may also remain temporarily in backups or technical logs until those records expire according to normal retention schedules.

Deleting Equation Solver AI from your device does not automatically constitute a request to delete server-side data.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information processed through Equation Solver AI.

These measures include authenticated access to cloud resources, access-control rules, secure network communications, Firebase App Check, platform integrity services, and restrictions on access to user data.

However, no electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Children and Student Users

Equation Solver AI is an educational application and may be used by students.

We do not require users to provide their name, email address, telephone number, date of birth, or similar profile information in order to solve math problems.

We do not ask users to provide their exact age.

If you are below the age at which you may independently consent to the processing of your information under the laws applicable in your country, you should use Equation Solver AI only with the authorization and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

Parents or legal guardians who believe that information relating to a child has been collected improperly may contact us through our Support page to request review or deletion.

Users should not upload photographs containing unnecessary personal information about themselves or other people.

11. International Data Processing

Equation Solver AI is available to users in multiple countries.

Our service providers operate infrastructure in various locations around the world. As a result, information may be processed in countries other than the country in which you live.

Where required by applicable law, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers of personal information.

12. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

• request information about data associated with you;
• request access to applicable personal information;
• request correction of inaccurate information;
• request deletion;
• object to or restrict certain processing;
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
• make a complaint to an applicable data-protection authority.

Because Equation Solver AI primarily uses an anonymous identifier and does not ask for your name or email address, we may need information from the App or device to identify which anonymous account belongs to you before fulfilling a request.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Equation Solver AI, our service providers, or applicable legal requirements change.

When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the beginning of this Policy and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
